Key Learning topics covered during the apprentice include:

• Supporting children and young people
• Child and young person development
• Learning to identify and evaluate the complex needs of children, young people and families
• Learning about professional development, health and safety, safeguarding and communication

As a resident support worker you could be working in a number of settings such as a children's home, a residential special school or a secure children's home.
